| Description | Returns Mr Degen's letter which he showed to Archibald Geikie [not enclosed], to whom he also mentioned the purport of their conversation. Geikie agrees that the arrangements with regard to Minchin's assistant should be made between Minchin and Geikie within the limits of the means placed at Minchin's disposal by the Committee.
Regarding transit from Mombassa to Entebe, has written to the Foreign Office at Captain Greig's suggestion, asking them to make arrangements for Minchin and his assistant. It was understood that Minchin would arrange for his assistant's passage to Mombassa and instruct the Agents to send the account to the Society.
Presumes Minchin will wish to draw some money on account of expenses, apart from the bills he has sent in for payment. If so, asks for a requisition in good time so that he may be sure of obtaining the Treasurer's signature to a cheque. |
