Description | With reference to Ralfe's letter of enquiry concerning the Manx Shearwater, Harrison had found in the Latin and English versions of Willoughby, Ray says he has seen dried adult specimens in the repository of the Royal Society. On turning to the catalogue of the Society's museum, 1681, no mention of Puffinus anglorum was found, but only of the Puffin. The archives contain a manuscript catalogue of the museum which Harrison could have looked through but he would have to charge for the labour involved. |
