TitleCopy letter from Archibald Geikie, to the Under Secretary of State, Colonial Office, S.W.
Date9 May 1905
DescriptionWith reference to Cox's letter of 19 April, Number 8511/1905[?], Harrison is instructed to reply on behalf of the Society that it is anticipated that the enquiry into Malta Fever will require at least another year. The probable expense this year may be estimated at about £750 on the old footing. If the scheme for the employment of sanitary inspectors should be adopted, which was urged in the letter from the Royal Society of 13 April, an additional outlay of perhaps £2000 would be needed.

Regarding the question asked by the Governor of Malta, it appears to be probable that Dr Zammit will be able to resume his usual duties at the end of the summer.
