TitleCopy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Dr [Henry Charlton] Bastian, [Fellow of the Royal Society]
Date1 June 1905
DescriptionBastian's 'Note on the Free Growth of Bacteria in a solution of neutral ammonic Tartrate in distilled water', has been before the Botany Committee and referred. It is not considered desirable that the paper be accepted for reading. Discusses one grave objection which is that Bastian seems to use the term organic substance under some misapprehension. As the paper has not been read it is in Bastian's power to withdraw it and make any other use of it he desires.
