| Description | The reports of the Indian Board of Scientific Advice, on which the Under Secretary invites remarks from the Royal Society in his letter of 31 March, had been considered by the Observatories Committee of the Society, so far as it is within their scope. Quotes the resolution the Committee has adopted which states that a reply be addressed to the India Office informing them that the Committee has been cognisant of the progress of most of the work described in pages one to eight of the report, and calling attention to the scientific importance of the main triangulating and pendulum work conducted under the superintendence of Colonel Burrard, which forms a most important contribution to the science of geodesy. |
