DescriptionThe report of the Joint Permanent Eclipse Committee, 8 December, was laid before the Council of the Royal Society at their last meeting. Captain Arthur Mostyn Field has been appointed to the vacancy on the Committee following the death of Sir William Wharton. The Society also propose that the arrangements under which the committee administers and reports upon expeditions to observe eclipses be reviewed, and they invite suggestions from the Committee on this subject.
