| Description | Geikie explains that the Royal Society have been considering the progress of its Commission on Mediterranean Fever and personnel changes due to retirement, and have asked that Geikie communicate a request for two officers from the Army Medical Services to continue the important work for Lieutenant Colonel Davies. The officers will be asked to fully investigate possible cases and supervise the effective evacuation and disinfection of barracks, as well as the complete isolation of Mediterranean Fever patients. His counterpart in the Navy is being asked for one officer for the same purpose, with the three officers to report directly to the Society's Committee.
He asks that the officers selected are able to begin work as close to 1 April as possible for the beginning of fever season. Geikie also asks that Major Horrocks be replaced by Major McNaught on the Commission. As a consequence of staff changes, they also ask that Colonel Bruce be granted leave to proceed to Malta for a few weeks to supervise the new observers as they begin work. |
