TitleCopy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Professor Charles Scott Sherrington, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date11 December 1906
DescriptionHardly thinks any good will be done by continuing the correspondence. Geikie is having a brief statement made of the whole story. If he could spare time he would like Sherrington to go over it, to see whether the Royal Society has been justified in the action it has taken. Geikie's error of stating that the paper was communicated by Professor Farmer was only noticed after the letter had been sent to Sherrington. Walker's action would have been bad enough if the letter had been addressed to Sherrington, but he sent the offensive letter to a member of Council who had not communicated the paper.
