TitleCopy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Professor de Lapparent
Date2 January 1907
DescriptionAsks him to provide some information as to the action of the Academy of Sciences in regard to the International Seismic Association. The Academy sent a delegate to the last meeting, and so did the Royal Society. Asks if there has been any more definite steps taken regarding France joining the Association, and making a contribution towards its funds.

He will remember that the British Government was advised by the Royal Society to adhere to the Associaton, provided France and the United States also joined. The United States has definitely done so, but there is uncertainty surrounding France. Any information before the Royal Society's Committee meets on 10 January would be welcome.
