| Description | The incident with Mr Walker has left such a painful impression that Geikie was anxious to have it satisfactorily ended. In a letter to Professor Farmer, Walker made the offensive and unjustifiable charge of accusing Officers of the Royal Society of pocketing commissions on the illustrations required for publications. President and Officers requested an apology, but none has arrived. If the decision is made to no longer print papers by Walker, the matter will have to come before Council. Hopes Sherrington's influence with Walker can lead him to realise the gravity of his charge. |
