TitleCopy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Dr W S Bruce
Date2 March 1907
DescriptionHas received his estimates from Oliver, Boyd and Bartholomew. Regarding Boyd and Oliver's estimate for plates, Geikie thought some of Bruce's figures would go into the text, such as the plan of the hut[?] showing the position of the instruments. It would be convenient if he could send up a set of proofs of all the illustrations except of course the map. 750 extra copies have to be printed for the 'Discovery' volumes, and if practicable, it would be best to have these done at the same time. There may be some difficulty in numbering the plates for the two independent publications.

The Treasurer would no doubt be willing to include the account of Smith of[and?] Aberdeen in his disbursements (£1-10/). Shall sent the proofs to the printer as soon as it is known whether any of the illustrations are to go into the text. Asks him to put the exact description or title on the plates.
