TitleCopy letter from Lord Rayleigh [John William Strutt], to Reginald McKenna MP, President of the Board of Education
Date7 March 1907
DescriptionThe Council of the Royal Society discussed the question of the new Technological Institute at South Kensington. A year ago Council passed a resolution, which was communicated to their predecessor, which stated that the Royal Society would regret that the facilities for biological study and research which have exited in connection with the Royal College of Science should be impaired. More recently, Council has responded to McKenna's letter to Sir F Mowatt to say that any scheme of higher education [at the Institution] which omitted biology and geology would be incomplete.
