Description | The printers know nothing of the obituary. Unlocked Harrison's desk but found nothing on the flat table, the drawer's went uninvestigated. The red paper-case and all likely and unlikely drawers, baskets, and cases about Sheppard and White have turned over, but all in vain. The letter book throws no light on the matter so far as Harrison can find. It is possible Sir Archibald Geikie did have it and overlooked it. White has told him they are anxious about it, so perhaps he may overturn his papers at Haslemere again. It remains a mystery until Harrison returns.
Shall be careful to observe his wishes about the key, and also about the dates of his holiday. Sir David Bruce has not yet gone. He leaves London sometime next week. Glad Harrison is getting goof weather at the lake. |
