TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster
Date17 December 1890
DescriptionRix has carried out Foster's instruction regarding [Walter G] Spencer & [Victor Alexander Haden] Horsley. Rix has sent the original to the referees, cutting out only a paragraph in which Horsley says that certain terms are in every text book, and the concluding paragraph complaining of delay and inadequacy of the reports. Rix sees that Dr [James] Croll has died. The application to the Scientific Relief Committee only reached Foster a day or two ago, too late for last Council and he wonders if Foster thinks the matter so pressing that an irregular procedure should be adopted. The application was to enable Croll's widow, in the event of his death, to return to her people.
