TitleCopy letter from an unknown correspondent, to Professor Michael Foster
Date20 January 1891
DescriptionHerewith are the Council minutes, Foster will see that in the Meteorological Office correspondence, the correspondent has only printed two letters, omitting the letter from Scott to Treasury. Regarding the minutes, every principal finite sentence in them is supposed to be such as the Council can vouch for, and the President in signing them confirms the truth of it. The sentence Foster proposed inserting is not an historical account of anything that happened at the meeting. The correspondent sends Mr Few's letter about the registration bill and the bill itself. The correspondent supposes Foster will write to Dr Armstrong without waiting for a Council. The suggested conference ought to be floated shortly if the bill is to go through this coming session.
