TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Michael Foster
Date18 April 1890
DescriptionRegarding the suggesting of names for medals, this preliminary step is often taken at the April Council, the May Council being the latest it can be taken if the ordinary number of meetings are held. The Council summonses will be posted tomorrow, if Foster would like this item on the agenda he should telegraph. Rix discusses summoning the Colour-vision Committee [annotated that Rix has since spoken to the President on the matter]. Rix wonders if Foster has seen that Dr [Sheridan] Delepine has reprinted his 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]' paper word for word in the April 'Journal of Anatomy and Physiology', and without any acknowledgement to the source or intimation that it was read before the Society. Rix received the proof plates for Beevor and Horsely today. The text is not yet ready though it has been in hand some days. He expects it in about a week or less and will send a copy of the proof.
