Date31 March 1909
Description'Gentlemen,
Dr George Gore deceased.
With reference to your letter of February 22nd and previous correspondence on the subject of the residuary bequest made by the late Dr Gore to the Royal Society and the Royal Institution, I now have to inform you that after seeing the clauses of the will you were good enough to send, the President and Council have agreed to accept the Trust thereby imposed upon the Royal Society.
With regard to the proposed erection of a headstone over Dr Gore's grave, the Council did not see their way to take any action in the matter.'
