In reply to your letter of the 23rd instant, you may safely anticipate the permission of the Council of the Royal Society to reproduce from your papers in the [Philosophical] Transactions and Proceedings [of the Royal Society] any illustrations that you may wish to use in connection with your forthcoming book, subject to due acknowledgment being made of the course from which they are reproduced. Our printers, Messrs Harrison and Sons, would supply Messrs Macmillam with electros of such blocks as are required at a small cost, and upon hearing from you which of the figures you wish to use I will instruct Harrison and Sons to prepare electros.' |
