Description'Paper by Dr C E K Mees, on the use of photographic plates for the recording of position. Communicated by Sir William Ramsay, KCB, FRS [Fellow of the Royal Society].
A copy of Sir William Abney's report on the above paper is enclosed for Sir Joseph Larmor's information [no enclosure]. The Committee of Papers on July 8th decided - subject to the report from the 2nd referee, and if necessary from a 3rd referee - to pass the paper for Proceedings [of the Royal Society].
The paper when first received was referred to Prof Dyson, and acting on his report, which was favourable, the paper was marked for Proceedings, and the illustrations accompanying it were put in hand for reproduction. Subsequently the printing of the paper was stopped sending a report from Sir William Abney; but the blocks were already made and delivered, and the bill for £2. 9s. 0d. has been received.'
