The Botany Committee at their meeting last week had under consideration the paper by Miss Benson, communicated by you for the Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society].
The Committee could not see their way to recommend the paper for publication in its present form, but decided to refer it back to you, as communicator, together with the criticisms of a referee, with an intimation that they will be prepared to reconsider the paper if presented in an amended form in accordance with those criticisms.
I send you the paper herewith, together with the referee's report referred to.' |
