TitleCopy letter from Alfred George Hastings White to Sir Archibald Geikie KCB, Pres RS
Date3 August 1909
DescriptionPanizzi's Catalogue is the Catalogue of the Library printed by the Royal Society in two sections in 1839 and 1841. Panizzi's bibliographical notes and remarks are omitted, which White believes gave rise to some dispute. White explains that the work was done more than 70 years ago and he cannot remember seeing the manuscript of the catalogue, but there are plenty of records and statements of what happened. White thinks it would be safest for Geikie to defer his visit until next week. White is sorry to hear that the report from Dr Shaw is no better than the Royal Society feared.
