Description | It is very doubtful if the Royal Society possess any Corvina Manuscripts. If any such manuscripts were ever in possession of the Royal Society they were in the Arundel Library, presented to the Society in 1667 by the Duke of Norfolk. The majority of the Arundel Manuscripts were transferred in 1831 from the Royal Society to the British Museum. The manuscripts that were kept by the society are mainly scientific with some earlier mathematical but Harrison has no reason to believe that any came from the Library of Matthias Corvinus. |
