Description'Sir,
With reference to Mr Fiddes' letter of the 15th instant (10210/1910) I am directed to inform you that the Tropical Diseases Committee of the Royal Society at a recent meeting agreed to supervise such further researches as may be undertake at the Laboratory in Uganda which the investigations proposed to be in-trusted to Dr Carpenter, as mentioned in the letter under reference, will be included.
I have received a letter from Dr Carpenter and hope to arrange an interview with him for an early date. In the meantime the Royal Society's Committee are taking steps to draw up a scheme of investigation for Dr Carpenter to pursue when he reaches Uganda.'
