Description'Sir,
I have to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of yesterday enclosing extract from letter from Government of India(No. 5R & A Department, 3rd March 1910) and a note by the late Director of the Geological Survey in India.
Your letter will be laid before the President and Council of the Royal Society in due course, and in the meantime I am to say that it would be a great convenience if 50 copies of the enclosure No 2, which is already in type, could be forwarded to me for distribution to members of the Council.'
