TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Gerard Smith, 2 Randolph Gardens, NW
Date23 May 1910
DescriptionIn reply to Smith's letter Harrison writes that all the Royal Societies of Science in the Colonies stand quite independently. There will however be no difficult in Smith gaining admission to the meeting of the Royal Society if he comes here [Burlington House] any Thursday afternoon from now until the end of the session. Harrison encloses a card of the meetings, which are held at 4:30, at the Fellows assemble at 4 o'clock for tea.
The paper to be read are announced provisionally in the "Nature" preceding each meeting and finally "The Times" of Tuesday preceding the meeting.
Certainly the use of the letters FRS [Fellow of the Royal Society], after the name of anyone not a Fellow of the Society would be misleading.
