Description'Dear Madam,
Referring to your letter of February 21, enclosing a cheque for £3 in payment of Dr Pye-Smith's annual contribution to the Royal Society, it appears that Dr Py-Smith compounded some years ago for his dues, consequently no annual payment is needed.
I enclose a cheque for £3 as a refund of the amount sent, and will ask you to kindly not the circumstances.
Please return the accompanying form of receipt.' [no enclosures]
