Description'Dear Sir,
I have the pleasure to inform you with reference to the paper by yourself and Mr William Ray, B.Sc, on the blood volumes of mammals, etc, that, as it was considered to be longer than is usually accepted for publications in the Proceedings [of the Royal Society], the Secretaries, acting in conjunction with the Chairman of the Sectional Committee to which the paper was referred and under the powers conferred upon them by the Standing Orders of the Council have decided to proceed with the printing of you paper in the "Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]" and the manuscript is about to be sent to the printers.
This action will be reported to the Committee of Papers in due course.'
