Description'Gentlemen,
Lately, application was made to Sir Almroth Wright for the payment of £3, his annual subscription to the Royal Society. To reply, we were informed that Messrs Barnsley & Co paid this sum to yourselves on March 25 last, and that ut had been duly credited to the Society's account, under date March 26.
Our passbook does not contain the credit entry at the above date. Have the goodness therefore the enter the sum in question in the passbook (now at your bank) and return it in the usual course. I shall also be glad of a note of explanation for communicate to Sir Almroth Wright.'
