Description'Dear Sir, Your application for a grant to purchase a balance for a research on the use of compounds containing water of crystallisation for atomic weight determinations, was laid before the Presidetn and Council at their meeting last week, and I have to inform you that a grant of £20 has been placed at your disposal for this purpose from the Government Grant funds. The grant can be obtained on applcation to the Clerk to the GGovernment Grant Committee at this address.

May I offer my congratulations on the distinction lately compound upon you.'
