TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to The Editor of the Athensum
Date11 July 1910
Description'Dear Sir,
I am sorry to find by your letter of the 8th instant that you have interpreted my note accompanying the proof of your entry of the Royal Society meeting in quite a mistaken sense. That note was written, not in any sense of irritation, but as a matter of ordinary officer routine, for the purpose of disclaiming office responsibility and in pursuance of the invariable rule that the Royal Society disclaims any responsibility for the form in which the accounts of its meetings appear in the press, and consequently always declines to undertake the revise such accounts. This rule is applied quite impartially to every journals to which the notices and reports of meetings are sent for information. And it is considered that the form in which the titled of paper are inserted in the printed documents issued by the Society may be taken as final.'
