TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Dr Augustus Desire Waller, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date9 November 1910
DescriptionHarrison acknowledges Waller and Dr Veley's letter of yesterday relating to the advertisement in the 'Daily Telegraph'. The President and Treasurer naturally agree with them as to the objectionable character of the advertisement, but at the present moment it is difficult to see what protection is at hand against the use for trading purposes of matter published by the Royal Society, so long as it does not amount to an infringement of copyright. They have thought it would be well to bring the question of the general use of papers for commercial purposes before Council.
