TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Sir W [William] W [Watson] Cheyne, Bart, CB, FRS
Date23 February 1912
Description'In answer to your enquiry in connection with the obituary notice of Lord Lister, the length of such notices is entirely at the discretion of the Fellows who are kin enough to undertake to furnish them.
In the case of part Presidents there is no limit to the length the biography may extend to, and especially in such an important life as Lord Lister's it must be a matter for the judgement of the Author, according to the amount of matter in his hands.
The time also is governed by your own convenience. Perhaps a couple of months hence would be as soon as we could expect it. It is also assumed that the notice will be illustrated by two of three portraits, in the selection of which you will perhaps like to place yourself in communication with the family of Lord Lister.'
