TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Mesrs Ede & Townsend, Southwark Bridge Buildings
Date7 March 1912
Description'Sir Ray Lankester has sent on me a pull of a large half-tone block for one of our publications, for which we are to pay you. The block is too large; it has a quantity of waste margin, which must be cut away. Did you have distinct instructions from Sir Ray Lankester to make it of the size of proof. The proof is 11 and a half X 9 and a half. About half an inch of this will have to be cut away all round, and we should naturally demur to pay for waste material. The block will in fact have to be trimmed at the sides close up to the figures.
To avoid misunderstandings, I think you had better send some one up at your first convenience to see me about this matter.'
