TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Professor J Stanley Gardiner FRS, Chairman of the Zoology Sectional Committee
Date7 March 1912
Description'Paper by Capt. C F U Meek on "A metrical analysis of chromosome complexes, showing correlation between evolutionary development and chromatic thread-widths throughout the animal kingdom.
The paper was referred to Prof Minchin and Prof Farmer, both of whose reports are favourable to publication. Prof Farmer says "I regard that paper as valuable contribution inasmuch as the author has worked out in great detail a method of analysis which may probably be of value to future workers - whether it will prove so much depend on the accuracy of his observations, but his statements will stimulate further work which will support or disprove them. IT is unsafe to say whether the speculations he founds on his observations will prove to be sound"
The biological Secretary suggests that the paper might go forward for printing for the Philosophical Transactions without waiting for a meeting of the Sectional Committee, if the Chairman agrees in thinking it desirable.'
