TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Messrs Annan & Sons, 518 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow
Date22 April 1912
Description'I understand that the photogravure plates of the portraits of Lord Kelvin used to illustrate the obituary notice of him in the Proceedings of the Royal Society are still in your hands. I presume they are the property of the Royal Society, and in that case I shall be much obliged by your sending them down here; because it is desired to use on of them to illustrate a work which the Society is about to bring out.
If there is any question of copyright involved the Society would of course be prepared to make proper recognition and pay any reasonable fee for the use of the portrait, but if my memory serves me alright, no such necessity arose in the case of the obituary notice in the Proceedings.'
