TitleCopy letter from Archibald Geikie to Horace Hart
Date27 April 1912
DescriptionHarrison gives Geikie some information with regard to what he is aiming at for the Record of the Royal Society and the Charter Book facsimile in advance of the 250th celebration on July 15th.
The Record - All the copy has now sent to Hart. The chronological list of Fellows follows on after Chapter XI, and then comes the alphabetical list of Fellows. There will be an index at the end and a page or two of preface at the beginning. The Royal Society have selected the thinner paper of the two Dummy Volunes, and have approved the position of the text on the page.
The Charter Book - If possible the Royal Society would like to include on the last page of the reproduction the signatures of the Fellows who will be elected and admitted in May. The portrait of King Charles which Hart photographed from the Charter will form the frontispiece of the book. Geikie gives details about the declaration, signatures, introductory text and alphabetical lists. He also gives details about font type for the reproduction.
