Description | The Tropical Diseases Committee last week had a letter before them from Sir David Bruce, asking to arrange to send him a supply of experimental animals every three months. This request has been acted upon when it first came in in December, with some difficulty and with the help of the Lister Institute, a consignment of rats and guinea pigs was sent out. The Lister Institute are willing to supply the animals at Bruce's request, but would like the Royal Society to make the arrangements for shipping them out to Nyasaland [Malawi].
Harrison wonders if the Crown Agents, who have machinery for this sort of work, would undertake the consultation with the Lister Institute. They suggest that more favourable terms of shipment can be obtained by a Government Commission than by a private institution. |
