TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Sir David Gill, KCB, FRS
Date4 January 1913
Description'I have now looked up the correspondence of 1900 relating to the telegram you sent in November 1899 on the subject of the discovery pf Silicon in the spectra of the fixed stars by Mr Lunt, and find that your telegram was received here on the 22nd November 1899. But I see by the correspondence that there was some unexplained delay in the transmission of the telegram, probably due to the state of war, because the cable appears to have been despatched from the Observatory quite early in November although, as recorded in a letter of mine at the time, the cable bore no date.
I hope this information will suffice for your purpose.'
