Title Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Dr R D Kleeman, 104 Mawson Road, Cambridge
Date21 January 1913
Description'In reply to your letter of yesterday, I take it that your enquiry practically amounts to the question whether or not the Superintendent of Eskdalemuir is expected to spend any of his time in laboratory research. That is a question which I am not in a position to answer offhand, and which I therefore propose to refer to the Director of the Meteorological Office; but from what I have heard of the work at Eskdalemuir I should imagine there is not very much time to spare for prolonged laboratory investigations. However, I would rather you waited for the opinion of the Director, to whom also I must refer your second question about the endowment assurance. He will no doubt either directly or though assurance. He will no doubt either directly or through me send you a reply without delay.'
