Description'Thank you for your letter. The object of a formal application to consult the archives stating the purpose for which the consultation is made, is to bring it before the Council in the form of a resolution so as to comply with our Statutes. So if you would write the shortest possible application of that kind if will serve our official purpose.
In the meantime if you are coming up to town this week I will arrange for you to see the levelling books at any time between 10 and 6 or 10 and 1 on Saturday in anticipation of the consent of Council.'
