TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Professor W [William] D [Dobinson] Halliburton FRS
Date3 February 1913
Description'I have read your Minute on the subject of the Croonian lecturer, but the procedure you refer to and commend, of summoning a joint Committee to formulate suggestions of the Croonian lecture is one which the Council deliberately abandoned when it instituted the practice last year of appealing to individual members of the Committees, and dealing with their suggestions itself.
Writing to you unofficially, I think I am right in saying that the former procedure seemed to the Council to have resulted generally in a competition between the three Committees for a man of their own 'fach.' worked well, so we are not at liberty to revert to it without a new resolution of Council.'
