TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to W [William] B [Bate] Hardy FRS
Date4 February 1913
DescriptionThe paper by Mr Cruickshank, which was reported to Hardy the other day, has been submitted to Dr Martin. Martin reports that the contents appear very slight as phosphates are well known to be sensitive to drying and presence of air. Martin thinks that the author does not seem to be aware of the discoveries of Ludecke, V Dunge and Coco, and Mainwaring.
Upon this opinion Sir John Bradford suggests that the author should have the offer of withdrawing his paper and Harrison asks whether Hardy concurs with this view. Harrison writes that it is rather unfortunate that this should happen because a paper by Mr C E Walker and others communicated by the same Fellows, Professor R Muir, had the same fate.
