TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Messrs Mackrell, Maton & Co
Date11 April 1913
Description'The answer to your question of the 8th inst., as to the designation of the account at the Bank of England to which the Consols to be transferred to the Royal Society in the above matter are to be added, depends upon whether or not the bequest of the Testator imposes any Trust upon the Society; because Consols held by the Society on its Trust accounts are entered under a separate account at the Bank of England from those standing to the credit of its General Purposes account. In order to determine this question finally it is necessary for us to be acquainted with the precise terms of the bequest to the Society, which have no yet been communicated to use; and for this purpose, and as a guide to the Society on other grounds, it would be very convenient if you could not furnish me with a copy of the terms of the will, so far as it concerns the Royal Society.'
