TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Sir John [Rose] Bradford, Secretary of the Royal Society
Date9 May 1913
DescriptionSending the Colonial Office letter on the Sleeping Sickness Commission in Nyasaland [Malawi] which was received this morning [no enclosures], along with a copy of Harrison's reply sent as instructed [NLB/48/85].

The language of the of the letter as it stands seems to bear only the interpretation that the [persual?] policy, of [?] destruction as a remedy, is to be decided upon by the proposed Committee on grounds of expediency, before the question of its scientific value as a remedy, as tested by experiment, is enquired into. As the experiment is to be carried out under the direction of the Committee, the whole question originally referred to the Royal Society seems to be taken out of their hands.
