TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Sir William Bowman, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date16 March 1891
DescriptionRix explains that the Government Grant work has been so heavy that he has been unable to look at the Royal Society Council Minutes or the work arising from them, which explains why the official letter due to Bowman from Rix has not yet arrived. Bowman's letter on the subject did however state the case correctly, namely that the Society pays for the printing of the text, but accepts his offer to pay for the printing of the portrait as concerns the extra 500 which he ordered for distribution.

Rix believes that the plate will give 200 good impressions, but if it does not, it will be a matter for future consideration. He also understands that Mr Dew Smith has given been given instruction on this point, and that the text and wrapper are with Rix, except that he is to consult with Bowman about the title for the wrapper.
