TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to John Evans, Treasurer, Royal Society
Date23 March 1891
DescriptionRix believes it was understood that Miss Chambers should keep two copyists going when she had the additional assistance in revision. Chambers believes she could take an extra copyist at once, and suggests that to save expense she might have a young girl of 13 or 14 who would come for five or six shillings a week to cut the leaves of the periodicals and do easy English copying. Rix asks to know if Evans favours this suggestion, and if he should book at once for a girl of this description, or wait for the next Committee meeting.
