He clarifies that the Copley Medal is not exclusively for discoveries connected with heat and light, and carries an annual rather than biennial grant of money. The Rumford Medal is, however, awarded biennially, but carries no grant, and is given for discoveries in heat and light. Rix reflects that the writer has mixed up the two medals. |
