Description | Rix explains that the slips at Cambridge are now sufficient to finish the first volume of the new decade of the 'Catalogue of Scientific Papers', and states that during the Royal Society's recess they need to prepare an introduction and list of abbreviations.
He suggests that Foster writes a rough draft of the introduction, which Rix will then redraft for his approval.
With regard to abbreviations, Rix mentions the need to consider serials which did not appear in former decades, and serials which have. Rix further notes that the list prefixed to volume seven was only a list of additional serials, so the complete list is to be found by referring to the lists prefixed to volumes one and seven. He outlines three options: print a combined list of new serials and altered abbreviations; print two separate lists; print a completely new list of all the serials, old and new, catalogued in the new decade and including abbreviations. They must decide on one of these options prior to preparing anything else. |
