TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to the Secretary to the Treasury, Whitehall
Date7 July 1891
DescriptionFoster responds to their letter of 12 June (reference 8777/91), included with 15 copies of 'The Observatories for Astrophysics, Meteorology, and Geodesy at Potsdam' which were presented to the British Government by the Government of Germany. He informs them of the instititutions to which the President and Council of the Royal Society propose to send copies of the work.

Foster asks if a separate presentation has been made to the Australian Colonies. If so, the Royal Society suggests substiting the last two institutions in their list - the Melbourne Observatory and the Sydney Observatory - for the Radcliffe Observatory, Oxford and the Glasgow University.
