TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to the Chief Librarian, British Museum
Date16 July 1891
Description'Sir,
We sent you on the 14th inst. [instant] per Parcels Delivery Co a work entitled "The Observations for Astrophysics, Meteorology, and Geodesy at Potsdam". It was one of several presented by the German Government, and intrusted to the Royal Society by H.M. [Her Majesty's] Treasury for distribution. We learnt only this morning from H.M. Treasury that 2 copies of this work had already been sent by My Lords to the British Museum. Will you therefore kindly cause this book to be returned to the Royal Society, as it was sent in ignorance of this fact.
I am, Sir, your obedient servant
Herbert Rix
Asst Sec & Librarian, Royal [Society]'.
